All our patients are offered an OCT scan to take a more detailed view of the retina and the optic nerve. These measurements are particularly useful when there is a family history of glaucoma or AMD. By rechecking every year or two, we can spot potential problems up to four years before there is any visual loss. It is now possible to send the live scans directly to the Bristol Eye Hospital for assessment by the ophthalmology team and if necessary we can arrange hospital appointments directly.
